The press is being suppressed in the Yemen - big time - and still the West backs the government. Sad really sad:
Yemen has stepped up a crackdown on the media that has created the worst climate for press freedom in decades, a rights group said on Wednesday.
The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) pointed to a series of steps by the government of President Ali Abdullah Saleh to rein in the media, including the creation of a special court last year to prosecute press offences.
