Ukrainian Journalist Shot

A Ukrainian journalist is in hospital in critical condition after being shot in the head last week. The journalist, Oleksandr Vlaschenko, works for the Nash Gorod Nikolaev newspaper and has recently been writing articles about local authority corruption which, his editor suggests, was the reason for the attack. Local media reports said the attacker took his bag which contained his camera and two mobile phone but not the money he was carrying, adding to the suspicion that this attack was related to Vlaschenko’s recent journalistic activities.
