Opposition news channel launched by Bahrain

Lualua TV, based in London, was launched on July 17 2011 by the Bahraini opposition. It is Bahrain’s only opposition channel and is funded by private donors in the Arab world. Since its launch it has been jammed eleven times and it has been forced to change its frequency three times. Its first broadcast lasted only five hours.

The channel is aimed at members of the opposition in Bahrain, who are otherwise exposed to state censored news.
