Tolo TV should be commended for the launch in 4 August 2011 of a new series called "The Ministry", which mocks the corruption and nepotism which is rife in the Afghan government. The show’s producers have described the show as a "mockumentary" which is being aired on Afghanistan's most popular TV channel.
The objective of the show is to act as a mirror, reflecting the real life goings-on in Afghan society today. It is almost like the Afghan version of "The Office". Television is very important in this country, because illiteracy rates are so high. Therefore programmes like this have an educational and awareness element to them too.
