The Guardian reported on 16 August 2011 that Al Zaman newspaper, in Oman, is threatened to be shut down.
Ibrahim al -Maamari, the board president, Yousef al-Haj, the editor and Haron Saeed, the design chief are all facing prosecution on charges of insulting the justice minister.
Al-Haj triggered the charges when in an article he wrote on May 14, he alleged that there was corruption at the justice ministry.
